Having easy, fun crafts for small children can help add some fun to your Thanksgiving celebration. Toddlers and preschoolers love to be part of the preparations and making decorations and crafts can be the perfect way to include them. Here are a few ideas:
Thanksgiving Placemats
Give children stickers, crayons, markers or other craft supplies and have them design placemats for everyone who will be attending.
Decorations
Purchase some fall coloring books or craft supplies from the local dollar store and have the children decorate the dining and/or living room. This can be as simple as blank paper and crayons.

Candy Party Favors
In addition to decorations, children can use cookies, candy and other foods to create Thanksgiving favors. Oreo turkeys with candy corn “feathers,” cookie Pilgrim hats, and Hershey Kiss acorns with vanilla wafers are two easy options.
Handprint Turkeys
Using washable paint, paint each child’s palm and fingers with fall colors. Them press their hand onto construction paper. When the paint dries, let the child add the turkey’s eyes, legs and beak.
Leaf Collage
If weather allows, go on a walk to collect colorful fall leaves. Give your child paper and a glue stick and let them create a beautiful collage.
Make a new Thanksgiving tradition with your children with these and other fun crafts. Be sure to share photos of your masterpieces!
