A Few Things to Remember
While there are a variety of benefits of being outdoor in colder weather, there are also some things you need to keep in mind to keep your children safe.
- Dressing in layers helps your child stay warm and comfortable. Waterproof boots, gloves, hats and insulated coats keeps them comfortable on their adventures.
- Limit time outside. Over exposure to cold temperatures can be dangerous for children. Plan short, fun outings instead of longer trips.
- Be sure to choose safe play areas that do not have ice or other hazards.
At Kiwanis Daycare Center, we try to get our kids outdoors when possible. Be sure to send the appropriate cold weather gear with your children.
