Winter months don’t have to mean boring! Here are some simple, fun activities to keep children engaged.
Indoor Snowball Toss
Use rolled up white socks or soft foam balls as snowballs. Set up any containers (buckets, laundry baskets, etc.) Have children try tossing, rolling or carrying the snowballs. For older children, make the task a bit harder by using a large spoon to carry the snowballs, or holding the snowballs with elbows while racing to the basket.
Snow Painting
All you will need is some blue construction paper and white paint. Use cotton balls, sponges or forks to create snowy scenes. Clear or white glitter can add a magical sparkle.
Penguin Races
Have your children hold a soft ball or pillow between their knees and waddle like a penguin. You can set up a finish line with masking tape.
Ice Rescue
Freeze small items in ice cube tray or small containers. Children use warm water droppers or spoons to rescue the items. Keep some of these ready to go in your freezer for a quick activity.
